El doctor Eduardo Bertoni ha aceptado el cargo de Representante Alterno de la Oficina Regional del IIDH para América del Sur
Professor Eduardo Bertoni has accepted the position of Alternate Representative of the Regional Office of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights
San José, December 17, 2020. It is our pleasure to announce that Professor Eduardo Bertoni has accepted, as of January 1, 2021, the position of Alternate Representative of the Regional Office of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights for South America, based in Montevideo, Oriental Republic of Uruguay.
The President of the IIHR, Professor Claudio Grossman, and its Executive Director, Dr. José Thompson, invited Professor Bertoni to join the team and coordinate the implementation of activities by the Institute on human rights – including the right to privacy, protection of personal data, access to information and freedom of expression – and the use of technologies. Given Professor Bertoni's background, and his support for the Institute as an Assembly member, the IIDH believes he is an ideal candidate to work from the regional office on these types of initiatives.
We are convinced Eduardo will highly contribute to the work of the Regional Office in particular, and to the IIHR in general, due to his recognized academic trajectory in the field of human rights and his extensive experience in non-governmental organizations, as a high-level official in his country, and in the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
