IIHR Regional Office for South America inaugurates 2022 internship program

Montevideo, Uruguay. The 2022 internship program of the Regional Office for South America of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights was inaugurated on March 2 by Jorge Padilla, Coordinator of the IIHR Area of Education, who underscored the importance of this type of initiative in promoting and educating in human rights and who also highlighted the support that the IIHR receives from this initiative. The supervision of the program will be the responsibility of the Representative of the Regional Office. Dr. Eduardo Bertoni.

During this semester, Martin Brun and Belén Hernández, law students at the Universidad Católica of Uruguay, and Rosana Larrañaga of the Universidad de la Empresa, will engage in research on Latin American bilateral commercial agreements that will analyze how personal data is transferred and whether it is done without negatively affecting human rights.


 The program is part of the agreement of cooperation reached last year with Uruguayan law schools.
