Interdisciplinary Course on Human Rights “The recovery of true democracy with effective rights”

San José, Costa Rica. The XXXIX Interdisciplinary Course on Human Rights “The recovery of true democracy with effective rights” was inaugurated on November 5, 2021. This emblematic activity, held yearly since 1983, will conclude on November 26.

The inaugural ceremony was headed by Claudio Grossman and Joseph Thompson, President and Executive Director, respectively, of the Institute, and Elizabeth Odio Benito, President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Jorge Padilla, Coordinator of the Course, was the moderator.

Participating in the 39th edition of the Course are some 50 persons from 17 countries.  A group of experts will discuss topics and situations regarding the state of democracy in the current context in Latin America.
