IIHR inaugurates Second Inter-American Diploma Course “The Human Right to Privacy and the Protection of Personal Data”

On August 29, 2022, the Second Inter-American Diploma Course “The Human Right to Privacy and the Protection of Personal Data,” was inaugurated with a lecture by Mariana Salazar, a member of the Inter-American Juridical Committee of the Organization of American States.

This second edition of the diploma course is an academic activity of integral training organized by the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIHR), under the direction of Eduardo Bertoni, Representative of the IIHR Regional Office for South America.

The course meets the obvious need to study the international standards of protection of human rights, especially the right to privacy, in view of the changes in international norms and in technological advances.

The general goal of the course is that the 29 participants from 15 countries acquire specific legal knowledge on the principal aspects of protecting personal data in accordance with national and international norms from the perspective of the protection of human rights.
