Mexico: civil society organizations backed by Support Fund for Electoral Observation present results of observation of recent elections

Mexico City. A series of meetings was held July 6-8, 2021 where the representatives of civil society organizations that receive backing from the Support Fund for Electoral Observations (FAOE) of the National Institute of Elections (INE) of Mexico, which is administered by the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL), were informed of the findings and conclusions of the observation of the elections of June 6. 


The event was inaugurated by Lorenzo Córdova, President of the INE, who was joined by Salvador Romero Ballivián, former President of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Bolivia and Technical Secretary of FAOE, and Horacio Vives, member of the Technical Committee of Evaluation, and, virtually, José Thompson and Sofía Vincenzi, Director and Coordinator of CAPEL, respectively.

With a transversal focus and based on regional experiences, the participants took up matters of the political and electoral participation of women, indigenous people, migrants, persons deprived of their freedom, youth and disabled persons.
