Montevideo, Uruguay. On August 16,2017, the Ambassador of Canada to Uruguay, Joanne Frappier, presented the funds for the “Campaign to promote diversity and the right to  health of the LGBTI population in the city of Montevideo” project, which were received by the Coordinator of the IIHR Regional Office for South America, Soledad García Muñoz, in what was her last official act as Coordinator before assuming her new position as Rapporteur for Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.

This project will inform the LBGTI population of its right to health, empowering it and making it aware with respect to its exercise through an audio-visual and graphic campaign that will be presented in a diversity of media, such as the screens in the waiting rooms of clinics, buses and public streets, as well as on the television channel of the Office of the Mayor  of Montevideo.
