Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Ricardo Valverde represented CAPEL at meetings that took place May 17-20, 2016 with Magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), the Electoral Director, Terencio Huete, the head of the Inclusion Project, Dunia Henríquez, and TSE staff. The mission was part of the 2015 Inter-Institutional Agreement of Cooperation and had as its objective the strategic development of inclusion and the improvement of conditions of participation in the electoral and political processes of the disabled and the indigenous and Afro-Honduran populations, with emphasis on women. This was a continuation of initiatives on which the TSE and the federations of those sectors have been working since 2009 .
During meetings on May 18-19, the participants identified the problems or limitations regarding inclusion and political and electoral participation, the initiatives to overcome them and the short and medium term priorities. This marked the first occasion in which the representatives of the federations had met with high officials of the Electoral Tribunal, the staff of which participated in a meeting of sensibilization and attended a play related to the matter.
The mission concluded on May 20 with an assessment in which Mr. Valverde, the Magistrates and top officials of the TSE participated .
