Virtual conversation on the right to privacy

San José, Costa Rica. On August 5, 2020, a virtual conversation took place on “The Right to Privacy as a Human Right: Is it in Danger because of Policies Implemented during the Pandemic.”


Organized by the Institute, the event was moderated by Prof. Mónica Pinto (from Argentina, IIHR Vice President).



Eduardo Bertoni (former Rapporteur of Freedom of Expression of the IACHR, currently Director of the Agency of Access to Public Information of Argentina)


Nelson Remolina (Supervising Delegate for the Protection of Personal Data of Columbia)


Elizabeth Mora (National Director of the National Agency for the Protection of Data of the Inhabitants of Costa Rica)


Felipe Rotondo (President of the Personal Data Regulatory and Control Unit of Uruguay of the Ibero-American Data Protection Network)


José Thompson, IIHR Executive Director, delivered the opening remarks.

The activity was the joint initiative of the IIHR President, Prof. Claudio Grossman, and Mr. Bertoni an was part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Institute.
