Santiago, Chile and Montevideo, Uruguay. With the stated purpose of training police to handle the challenges that confront their institutions in Latin America with regard to the fundamental rights of children and adolescents, the Investigative Police of Chile and the IIHR Regional Office for South America, with the support of the Chilean Agency of International Cooperation, announce the holding of the “Fifth International Diploma Course on Human Rights and the Police. Challenges and Strategies for Children and Adolescents for the Perspective of Gender and Human Mobility.”
The course takes place July 3 to October 20, 2017. The initial phase of 13 weeks will be virtual and will use the IIHR Inter-American Virtual Classroom. The on-site phase will take place October 16-20 in Santiago. It is expected that the course will be attended by police from Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
