IIHR/CAPEL presents research project on political rights of women

Tegucigalpa, Honduras. On February 10, 2017, as part of the general agreement on inter-institutional cooperation between the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Honduras (TSE) and the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIHR/CAPEL), a meeting was held with representatives of the Government of Australia and the Magistrates of the TSE where the new research project on the political rights of women was presented and talks were held on the possibilites of cooperation with respect to the elections in Honduras.



Representing the Government of Australia were David Engel, Ambassador to Mexico with responsibilities for Honduras, and Philip Ruddock, special envoy for human rights, who were joined by the TSE Magistrates David Matamoros Batson, Saúl Escobar Andrade and Marco Ramiro Lobo Rosales, who were accompanied by Denis Gómez; Vania García, General Director of Protocol of the Foreign Ministry, and Ricardo Valverde of IIHR/CAPEL.
