San José, Costa Rica. On June 2, 2017, the Inter-American Classroom on Human Rights hosted a regional forum on “Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance: Challenges and Progress,” organized by the Regional Office for Central America of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OACNUDH) and the IIHR.
The activity opened with welcoming words of Alberto Brunori, OACNUDH Representative, which was followed by remarks of Santiago Corcuera Cabezut, President of the UN Committee Against Enforced Disappearance, and a commentary by Carlos Gaio, senior staff lawyer of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. The event closed with a question and answer session.
