Rosario, Argentina. The Second Interdisciplinary Seminar on Public Policies, the Rights to Development and Access to Justice in the MERCOSUR took place July 24-28, 2018. The theme of this edition of the Seminar was “The Mobility of Persons and Human Rights.”
The program for the participants, from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Africa, was comprised of lectures and panels, workshops, round tables, case studies and a moot court, with concentration on the Inter-American System of Human Rights.
Among the lecturers were the UN Rapporteur for Transitional Justice, Fabián Salvioli, and José Thompson, IIHR Executive Director. Also participating were the Rector of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), Héctor Floriani, and Rubén Chababo, Secretary of Human Rights of the UNR.
The event, which took place at the UNR School of Humanities and Arts, was organized by the IIHR, represented by Jorge Padilla, IIHR Coordinator of Education and Jorge Murillo, Director of the Program of the Rights to Development (PDAD-UNR). The UNR organizers also included the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, the Secretariat of Human Rights and the Study Group on Migrations.
Mr. Padilla also visited the Club de Futbol of Rosario Central, where he conducted a working session with the team’s Sub-Commission on Human Rights.
