Bogotá, Colombia. During the mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE), which observed the first round of the Colombian presidential elections of May 27, 2018, the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL) and the Clean Politics Unit of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Honduras (TSE) signed an agreement on “Strengthening the Clean Politics Unit and building regional ties among the institutions responsible for the accountability of political parties.”
This agreement was signed by Kelvin Aguirre, Commissioner of the Clean Politics Unit, and José Thompson, Executive Director of IIHR/CAPEL, the Executive Secretariat of UNIORE. María Elena Wapenka, President of UNIORE, and Julio César Castaños, Head of Mission of Observation, witnessed the signing.
