IIHR/CAPEL participates in seminar on social and political inclusion of women

San José, Costa Rica. On September 8, 2017, Tasheena Obando, staff member of the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL), participated in a panel on the challenges regarding the social inclusion of women in a democracy with parity. The panel was moderated by Ileana Aguilar, of the Institute of Formation and Studies on Democracy (IFED) of the Supreme Tribunal of Elections of Costa Rica (TSE); Olinda Salguuero, of the Central American System of Integration (Guatemala); Flavia Freindenberg, researcher of the Institute of Juridical Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (IIJ-UNAM), and Luis Diego Brenes, Magistrate of the TSE.

The panel was part of the international seminar on “Good Practices, Teachings and Challenges of the Social and Political Inclusion of Women in Central America, Mexico and the Dominican Republic that was held September 7-8 and that was organized by the IFED, the OAS, the IIJ-UNAM, the Network of  Political Scientists and the National University and the National Institute of Women, the latter two of Costa Rica.
