Montevideo, Uruguay. The IIHR Regional Office for South America presented its “Report on activities of 2015," which covers an extensive agenda of courses, workshops and conferences that were part of its work on human rights education, promotion, specialized training, research and technical assistance. Additionally, the Office –coordinated by Soledad García Muñoz- conducted high impact projects and took part in different events, including international meetings and electoral processes.
The work of many stakeholders – States, national and international institutions and civil society organizations – has helped to consolidate the presence of the IIHR in the countries of the MERCOSUR (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay) with important achievements in implementing the institutional strategic framework and cross-cutting themes (civil society-State interaction; gender equality and non-discrimination).
