UNIORE observes local elections in Colombia

Bogotá, Colombia. On October 27, 2019, a mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) observed the local elections, which involved 32 governorships and Deputies of the Departments, 1101 mayoralities and the municipal councils of the Local Administrative Boards.


Among the items of the agenda were several academic activities before the voting and on October 27 the delegation visited polling places in and around Bogotá.

The delegation was comprised of 38 Magistrates and staff of the UNIORE members from Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Puerto Rico and was led by Magistrate Carmen Imbert Brugal, of the Central Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic.


Representing the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL), the Executive Secretariat of UNIORE, was its Coordinator, Sofía Vincenzi, third from left in the photograph.
