Quito, Ecuador. A mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) observed, on March 19, a simulated second round of elections in Ecuador. As part of the exercise, the National Electoral Council, headed by Juan Pablo Pozo, announced the mock results from the 24 provincial boards plus those from outside the country. The recommendations of the international observers were taken into account for the second round that will take place on April 2.

The mission was comprised of Ileana Aguilar (Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Costa Rica); Félix Ortega (National Identification Registry of Peru), Sonia Segovia (Superior Tribunal of Electoral Justice of Paraguay) and Tasheena Obando (Center of Electoral Promotion and Assistance -IIHR/CAPEL- the Executive Secretariat of UNIORE), who was interviewed by the Vigía radio station on what was observed in the simulated election for President and Vice President of Ecuador.

The photograph shows Ileana Aguilar, Tasheena Obando, Félix Ortega and Sonia Segovia.
