Tegucigalpa, Honduras. A technical mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) visited Honduras during the period October 29-November 2, 2017 at the request of that country’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
The mission was comprised of Félix Ortega de la Torre, Advisor to the Headquarters of the National Registry of Peru; Dennis Cascante Hernández, Director General of Technological Strategy of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Costa Rica; Gustavo Salomón Carduz, Advisor to the Superior Tribunal of Electoral Justice of Paraguay; Jorge Moya Polanco, National Director of Informatics Security of the National Electoral Council of Ecuador, and Tasheena Obando Smith, who represented the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL), the Executive Secretariat of UNIORE and the Protocol of Tikal.
The members of the mission met with, among others, the TSE Magistrates in plenary session, the Electoral Director, the company in charge of processing and disseminating the results, the Head of the Census and the team in charge of the Intergral System of Counting the Votes and Disseminating the Results. The members also witnessed the drafting and dissemination of the minutes confirming the results of the voting. Finally, they relayed their impressions of the observation mission to the Magistrates in plenary session and offered their main conclusions to the media.
