UNIORE Advanced Technical Mission in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Advanced Technical Mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) visited the Dominican Republic on September 12-13, 2019. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the organization of the work of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) in organizing the Simultaneous Primary Elections to be held on October 6. It also examined the implementation of the electoral legislation and the automated voting. The members of the Mission met with JCE authorities, delegations of the Liberación Dominicana (PLD)  and Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) political parties. They then drafted their conclusions and recommendations, which were included in their report to the JCE.

The Mission was comprised of Magistrates from Bolivia, Mexico and Uruguay, joined by the Directors of Technology of the UNIORE member bodies of Costa Rica, Panama and Paraguay. Also participating was Sofía Vincenzi, Coordinator of the Center for Electoral Promotion  and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL), the UNIORE Executive Secretariat.
