UNIORE technical mission verifies improved software of TSE of Guatemala

Guatemala City. A technical mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) arrived at Guatemala City on July 26, 2019, at the invitation of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, to evaluate the system for transmitting election results in order to optimize its operations for the second round of the presidential elections that was held August 11.

The mission, which finished its work on July 30 when it presented its preliminary report, was comprised of its coordinator, Joel Lantigua Peralta (Director of International Affairs of the Central Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic), Miguel Jacobo Duarte (General Coordinator of Computation of the Superior Tribunal of Electoral Justice of  Paraguay), and Ana Yansy Gutiérrez Francis (former Head of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Costa Rica) and Juan Carlos Corrales Umaña (Head of the Software Section of the latter Tribunal).
