Meeting of the UNIORE Coordinating and Follow-up Committee

Mexico City. Perfecting electoral observations, consolidating the institutional capabilities of the member bodies, supporting their independence and autonomy and adopting better technological tools are the goals proposed by the President of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Mexican Federation, Felipe Fuentes Barrera, during his term as president of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE), a position that he will share with Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, president of the National Electoral Institute.

The incoming President stated these objectives at the meeting of the UNIORE Coordinating  and Follow-up Committee, held on March 27, 2019 in Mexico City, at which the principal electoral authorities of Mexico were present, among them Mr. Córdova Vianello. Also attending were representatives of other UNIORE member bodies. The UNIORE Executive Secretariat, the Center for Electoral Promotion and Assistance (IIHR/CAPEL), was represented by its Director, José Thompson, its Coordinator of Operations, Sofía Vincenzi, and staff member, Andrea Tercero.
