Montevideo, Uruguay. The Seventh Latin American and Caribbean Coloquium, “One Hundred Years of the University of Córdoba Reform: New Reflections on Education in Human Rights,” took place September 14-16, 2017. The event was organized by the National University of Quilmes, Argentina, the República and Católica Universities of Uruguay and groups belonging to the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Education in Human Rights.
On the opening day of the Colloquium, the IIHR Coordinator of Education, Jorge Padilla, introduced Víctor Giorgi who spoke on “Early Infancy and Human Rights.”
The activities of the Seventh Colloquium revolved around five principal themes: infancy and adolescence, different forms of violence and discrimination, education and human right, human rights in public institutions and national plans and historical memory, human rights and democracy. Among the experts who participated in the event was Ana María Rodino, who lectured on “Education in Human Rights in Formal Education.”
